Latin America ends 1Q 2014 with 63.73 million pay TV subscribers

Dataxis have released figures for pay TV in Latin America. The total number of legal subscribers in the region was 63.73 million at the end of the first quarter of 2014, up 2% compared with the previous quarter.
Venezuela was the country with the fastest growth during the quarter, up 2.7% or 114,000 users. Brazil and Colombia added 2.1%, Mexico 1.5% and Argentina 0.5% during the same period.
Brazil has the largest subscriber base in the region at 18.46 million, with Mexico in second place at 15.56 million.

Dataxis expect further strong growth in the second quarter driven by World Cup demand.
