SES Reports Solid Nine Months Core Infrastructure Performance
Oct 23, 2009 – SES (Paris, LuxX:SESG) has reported results for the nine months to 30 September 2009. No satellites were launched in the quarter, however preparations are well advanced for the launch of NSS-12 which will deliver a mix of DTH, VSAT and telecom applications.

Shaw adds 113,000 digital TV subscribers in latest quarter
Oct 23, 2009 – Shaw Communications (TSX: SJR.B, NYSE: SJR) has announced results for the quarter ended August 31, 2009. In the quarter digital cable customers were up 110,501 to 1,297,684. DTH customers increased 2,728 to 900,941.

BSkyB adds 287,000 HD customers in latest quarter
Oct 23, 2009 – In the three months to 30 September 2009, BSkyB (LSE:BSY) continued to see strong demand for its products. Sky+HD was the principal driver reaching 5.902 million households in the quarter and surpassing 60% penetration of the base.

Elion adds 6k IP and cable-TV customers in 3Q09

South Africa announces DTT STB subsidy plans
Oct 22, 2009 – As part of its transition to digital TV, South Africa's Cabinet has allocated R400 million to subsidise the set-top boxes of up to 5 million poor households. The country's Bureau of Standards is finalising a South African DTT STB standard.

Spain's DIGITAL+ still losing subscribers
