Video revenue in the GCC region to grow to $2.1bn by 2026
Feb 22, 2022 – Media Partners Asia (MPA) has announced that the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) video industry grew revenue by 11% Y/Y in 2021 to reach US$1.9 billion. SVOD contributed 23% to total revenue while AVOD contributed 26%.

PCCW's Viu enjoys significant growth in 2021
Feb 28, 2022 – Viu has announced that the platform saw a growth of approximately 30% in Monthly Active Users (MAU) in 2021 as compared to 2020, reaching 58.6 million. Viu also enjoyed a total of 8.4 million paid subscribers at year end.

More than one in three viewers in Southeast Asia stream OTT
Feb 28, 2022 – A third (34%) of Southeast Asian viewers are now streaming over-the-top (OTT), according to a new study by The Trade Desk (NASDAQ: TTD). The research also shows that the region welcomed 20 million new OTT viewers in the past year.

vMVPD subscribers in the U.S. represent 11% of TV households
Feb 22, 2022 – Research from Omdia has found that, at the end of 2021, there were 13.6 million virtual pay-TV subscriptions in the U.S., representing approximately 11% of TV households. Traditional pay TV subscriptions saw a 7% decline.

DISH Network pay TV subscribers down 273,000 in 4Q 2021
Feb 24, 2022 – DISH Network (NASDAQ: DISH) has reported results for the quarter ending December 31, 2021. Net pay-TV subscribers decreased approximately 273,000 in quarter to close at 8.22 million DISH TV and 2.49 million SLING TV subscribers.

Singtel TV subscribers down 6,000 in 4Q 2021
Feb 15, 2022 – Singtel has reported results for the third quarter and nine months ended 31 December 2021. The company finished the quarter with 362,000 pay TV subscribers, down 6,000 versus the end of the previous quarter, and down 13,000 year-on-year.

Türk Telekom TV subscribers down 0.1 million in 4Q 2021
Feb 15, 2022 – Türk Telekom has released results for the fourth quarter of 2021. Over the quarter total TV subscribers (IPTV, DTH and Tivibu GO) reduced by 0.1 million to 2.9 million, with Tivibu Home subscribers (IPTV and DTH) remaining unchanged at 1.5 million.

Liberty Global reports Q4 2021 results
Feb 17, 2022 – Liberty Global (NASDAQ:LBTYA, LBTYB, LBTYK) has announced its Q4 2021 results. Organic video subscriber losses at continuing operations were 19,400 in the quarter. VodafoneZiggo video subscribers were down 24,900 over the same period.
