GVT and EchoStar plan pay TV joint venture in Brazil

Pay TV subscribers down 500,000 year-on-year in Spain to end-Q2 2013
Sep 27, 2013 – Spain's Telecommunications Market Commission has published telecommunications statistics for the country for the second quarter of 2013. Total pay TV subscribers dropped below 3.8 million at the end of the quarter, down from around 4.3 million at the same point in 2012.

Pay TV subscribers up 10.6% year-on-year in Chile in Q2
Sep 13, 2013 – Chile’s Subtel has released pay TV statistics to the end of June 2013. Versus the end of June 2012, satellite subscribers increased from 952,767 to 1,100,709 (up 15.5%) whereas wired (cable TV and IPTV) subscribers grew from 1,168,831 to 1,246,254 (up 6.6%).
