SingTel mio TV subscribers up 2,000 in 2Q 2013
Aug 14, 2013 – SingTel has reported results for its first quarter ended June 2013. Improved mio TV content line-up has lifted ARPU while customers with bundled services increased 11% from a year ago to 353,000 customers as at 30 June 2013.

Cord-cutting in Canada's traditional TV service market accelerates in Q2 2013
Aug 13, 2013 – Canada's publicly traded television service providers lost an estimated 19,624 TV subscribers combined in the second quarter of 2013, according to new research from Ottawa-based research and consulting firm Boon Dog Professional Services.

OTE (OTE TV and RomTelecom) results to end-June 2013
Aug 8, 2013 – OTE Group (ASE:HTO; OTC MARKET:HLTOY) has announced results for the quarter ended June 30, 2013. In Greece, total TV subscribers amounted to 175k, an increase of 99k year-on-year. In Romania, Romtelecom TV subscribers grew 7.3% over the year, to reach nearly 1.3 million.

86% of U.S. TV households subscribe to a multi-channel video service
Aug 8, 2013 – Consumer research from Leichtman Research Group (LRG) finds that 86% of U.S. households subscribe to some form of multi-channel video service. Among TV households that do not, 40% subscribe to Netflix, 11% to Amazon Prime, and 7% to Hulu Plus.

Telstra results for the year ended 30 June 2013
Aug 8, 2013 – Telstra has released its results for the year ended 30 June 2013. TV revenue remained stable at $666 million. The decline in the number of customers on the premium service was offset by growth in IPTV, namely T-Box® sales and Foxtel on T-Box® offerings.

32.5 million pay TV subscribers in Russia at end-1H 2013
Aug 5, 2013 – According to iKS-Consulting, the number of pay TV subscribers in Russia at the end of June 2013 was 32.5 million, up 13% compared with the same point in 2012. The number of operators with a subscriber base of over 1 million increased during that time from 5 to 7.

Satellite TV subscribers pass the 1 million mark in Chile
Aug 1, 2013 – Chile's Subtel has released pay TV statistics for the country to the end of March 2013. From the end of March 2012, satellite subscribers increased from 943,844 to 1,039,535 (up 10.1%) whereas wired (cable TV and IPTV) subscribers only grew from 1,162,383 to 1,205,918 (up 3.7%).

BRIC countries keep Pay-TV market growing despite cable subscriber losses
Jul 30, 2013 – Infonetics Research has released excerpts from its latest Pay TV Services and Subscribers report. Cable makes up the largest portion of the pay-TV market, but this will change by 2017 when satellite grows to more than 40% of total pay-TV revenue.
