Brazil adds 446k pay TV subscribers in 1Q10
Apr 26, 2010 – According to Brazil's Agência Nacional de Telecomunicações (Anatel), with 194,137 new subscribers added in March 2010, Brazil reached the end of the first quarter of 2010 with 7,919,380 homes with pay TV. Satellite (DTH) was the fastest growing segment.

427,000 pay TV subscribers in Uruguay at end-2009
Apr 9, 2010 – The Uruguayan communications regulator URSEC has released a survey of the telecommunications market in Uruguay up to the end of December 2009. The number of Pay TV subscribers at the end of the year was 427,000 up from 416,000 at the end of 2008.

Japan to provide 40,000 ISDB set-tops to Ecuador
Mar 31, 2010 – According to Ecuador's Superintendencia de Telecomunicaciones, Japan will deliver to Ecuador 40,000 set-top decoders for low-income people to use with their televisions to receive the ISDB-T digital TV service to be launched in the country.

Argentina launches digital TV
Mar 30, 2010 – Argentina's Federal Planning Minister Julio De Vido has said that 75 percent of Argentines will be able to enjoy free-to-air digital terrestrial television this year, with 95% of the country covered by 2012.

Ecuador confirms ISDB-T choice
Mar 25, 2010 – Ecuador's Superintendencia de Telecomunicaciones (SUPERTEL) has recommended to the country's Consejo Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (CONATEL) that Ecuador should proceed with the Japanese-Brazilian ISDB-T variant as its DTT standard.
