Freecast unveils hybrid-DTT Android box for the US
Aug 10, 2017 – FreeCast has unveiled its set-top box, which the company envisions as a low-cost replacement not just for the cable box, but expensive cable and satellite TV service. Dubbed OneBox, the Android-based device will boast hardware specs comparable to those of a modern quad-core PC.

DISH pay TV subscribers down 196,000 in 2Q 2017
Aug 3, 2017 – DISH Network (NASDAQ: DISH) has reported results for the quarter ending June 30, 2017. In the second quarter, net Pay-TV subscribers declined approximately 196,000, compared to a decline of approximately 281,000 in the second quarter 2016.

Hulu users prefer subscription streaming over legacy pay TV
Aug 2, 2017 – When asked to choose between their legacy pay-TV and SVOD services, Hulu on-demand users are 37% more likely than Amazon Prime users and 29% more likely than Netflix users to select streaming services over legacy pay-TV, according to The Diffusion Group (TDG).
