'hayu' SVOD service to launch in UK, Ireland and Australia
Feb 11, 2016 – NBCUniversal International has announced the launch of hayu - a subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) reality service. The first all-reality service of its kind - curated and fully integrated with social media - will launch in March in the UK, Ireland & Australia on a full array of devices.

Freesat now available in 1.93 million homes
Feb 4, 2016 – Freesat has announced a strong final quarter to 2015, with the addition of 36,000 new homes in the three months to December 2015. After adding 61,000 homes over the course of 2015, Freesat is now available in over 1.93 million households in the UK.

Samsung UK Smart TV hub attracting 2.5 million weekly visitors
Feb 1, 2016 – Samsung has announced that its Smart TV platform has now passed the 2.5 million weekly unique users mark in the UK – a 33% increase in users over the past six months.

BT adds 97,000 TV customers in 4Q 2015
Feb 1, 2016 – BT Group (BT.L) has announced its results for the third quarter and nine months to 31 December 2015. The company added 97,000 TV customers in the quarter to end with a total of 1.4 million.

Sky releases 4Q 2015 results
Jan 29, 2016 – Sky has released unaudited results for the six months ended 31 December 2015. In the UK and Ireland the company added 146,000 TV customers in the quarter. Sky added 120,000 customers in Germany and Austria, and 12,000 in Italy.

Sky Q goes on sale in February
Jan 29, 2016 – Sky has announced that Sky Q will go on sale in February. The Sky Q products connect wirelessly to create an ecosystem that makes TV viewing seamless – called Fluid Viewing. Fluid Viewing allows a user to pause a show in one room and pick up the action on another TV or tablet in the home.

Roku developing set-top box for operator partners
Jan 29, 2016 – Roku has announced that it is developing a hybrid set-top box that will be available for production by Roku Powered partners. Sky will be the first Roku Powered operator to deploy the box as part of its NOW TV service in the UK.
