U.S. pay-TV providers lost 125,000 subscribers in 2014
Mar 3, 2015 – Leichtman Research Group (LRG) has found that the thirteen largest pay-TV providers in the US -- representing about 95% of the market -- lost about 125,000 net video subscribers in 2014. Annual net pay-TV losses in 2014 were comparable to 2013, when the same top pay-TV providers lost about 95,000 subscribers.

Connected TVs surpass connected Blu-ray Disc players in the U.S.
Mar 2, 2015 – According to The NPD Group, ownership of Internet connected TVs is now more common than Internet connected Blu-ray Disc players, of which U.S. consumers own 20 million. Video game consoles and streaming media players, however, are still the most used TV app platforms.

TDS Telecom adds 4,000 TV subscribers in 4Q 2014
Feb 25, 2015 – Telephone and Data Systems (NYSE:TDS) has reported results for the fourth quarter of 2014. TDS Telecom finished the year with 23,400 IPTV subscribers, up 2,700 in the quarter. Video connections via cable ended the year at 110,400, up 1,300 in the same period.

Suddenlink digital TV customers down 26,300 in 4Q 2014
Feb 24, 2015 – Cequel Communications (Suddenlink) has reported fourth quarter 2014 results. Basic video customers decreased by 34,800 and digital video customers decreased by 26,300 during the final quarter of the year.
