IPTV flourishes in the Persian Gulf
Feb 6, 2014 – Fourteen service providers in nine countries in the Arab World offered IPTV services by October 2013, up from eleven service providers in eight countries offering IPTV by yearend 2011, according to the Arab Advisors Group.

SKY PerfecTV! loses 95,000 subscribers in 2013
Feb 6, 2014 – SKY Perfect JSAT Group has released results for the quarter ending December 31, 2013. The company finished the year with a total of 3.706 million pay TV subscribers, 95 thousand down from 3.801 million at the end of 2012.

Bell Wireline adds 122,000 TV subscribers in 2013
Feb 6, 2014 – BCE (TSX, NYSE: BCE) has reported Q4 results. Bell Fibe TV added 60,301 net new customers, up 25.0% compared to 48,234 in Q4 2012. Bell Satellite TV losses were 24,112 in the quarter.

One million TV customers for Swisscom
Feb 6, 2014 – Swisscom has released its results report for 2013. The number of Swisscom TV connections increased year-on-year by 209,000 or 26.4% to 1 million, of which 939,000 subscribed to the basic packages.

BT launches buy-to-keep movies service
Feb 5, 2014 – Customers are now able to buy many of the latest blockbusters from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, along with a selection of modern greats and classics, on BT’s YouView box.

Bell Aliant adds 14,800 IPTV customers in 4Q 2013
Feb 4, 2014 – Bell Aliant (TSX: BA) has reported results for the fourth quarter of 2013. IPTV customers numbered 178,100 at the end of the period, up 44.8 per cent from a year earlier.

Over 400,000 TV subscribers for Magyar Telekom
Feb 4, 2014 – Magyar Telekom has announced that the number of the subscribers to its IPTV and Interactive Sat TV (satellite) services has exceeded 400 thousand with further growth expected in 2014.

TalkTalk adds 175,000 TV customers in 4Q 2013
Feb 4, 2014 – TalkTalk Group plc has released its Interim Management Statement for the 9 months to 31st December 2013. The company added 175,000 net new customers to its TV base, taking the total to 732,000.

Feb 4, 2014 – KPN has published its 2013 full year results. KPN’s IPTV proposition resulted in another quarter of strong IPTV net adds (80k), offseting a decline in Digitenne subscribers of 42k.
