Brazil wants 15 million STBs to be produced over the next three years
Jun 24, 2010 – Brazil's government has a goal for the country to produce 15 million digital TV converters between 2011 and 2013. The government is considering possible subsidies or tax concessions in order to motivate manufacturers.

27.8 million will have IP Hybrid TV in Latin America by 2015
Jun 24, 2010 – According to a new report by NexTV Latam, there will be 27.8 million households with IP Hybrid TV in Latin America in 2015. 41.4% of the households with Hybrid IPTV will have an IP-DTH option, 38.4% IP-DTT and 20.2% IP-Digital Cable.

MTC to supply set-top boxes to Brazil

Skyworth delivering ISDB STBs to Argentina

Paraguay adopts ISDB for digital TV
Jun 2, 2010 – As recommended by the Comisión Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (CONATEL) the President of Paraguay has decreed that the country shall adopt the Japanese-Brazilian ISDB standard for digital terrestrial television transmission.

Algar Telecom (CTBC) launches DTH in Brazil
May 21, 2010 – Algar Telecom has launched a pay TV satellite service in Brazil. The service, called CTBC TV, is being sold initially in the cities of Uberlândia, Uberaba, Patos de Minas, Araguari, Pará de Minas, Ituiutaba (MG), Itumbiara (GO) and Franca (SP).

53.5 million free-to-air DTT homes in Latin America in 2015
