Pay TV in Brazil grows fastest since 2002
Jan 26, 2010 – According to Brazil's Agência Nacional de Telecomunicações (Anatel), with 1,152,624 new subscribers in 2009, Brazil reached 7,473,476 pay TV households at the end of 2009. The growth rate of 18.24% is the highest recorded since 2002.

Brazil has 7.16 million households with pay TV
Dec 8, 2009 – According to Brazil's Agência Nacional de Telecomunicações (Anatel), 62,186 new pay TV subscribers were added in the country in October giving a total 7,160,566 households with pay TV.

Cable TV subscribers in Brazil exceed 4 million
Apr 29, 2009 – ANATEL has released March's quarterly report on the pay TV market in Brazil. Cable TV remains dominant in the country with subscriber numbers passing the 4 million mark in March. DTH (satellite) numbers remain steady at around 2.1 million.

Telemar (Oi) 3rd Quarter 2008
Oct 30, 2008 – Tele Norte Leste (Bovespa: TNLP4,TNLP3) and Telemar Norte Leste (Bovespa: TMAR3,TMAR,TMAR6) have announced results for the third quarter of 2008. Oi has acquired licenses to offer DTH pay-TV and plans to share its infrastructure with Telefônica.

Telmex Internacional Second Quarter 2008

Embratel to launch DTH in Brazil
Apr 28, 2008 – Embratel has received approval of its application for a Direct to Home (DTH) licence. Embratel plans to offer a national pay TV satellite service from the second half of this year.
