8K TV shipments to approach one million units in 2019

Asia Pacific SVOD homes to quadruple
Jul 9, 2015 – Digital TV Research has forecast 68.83 million SVOD homes in Asia by 2020, quadruple the 2014 total. Japan will remain the largest SVOD country with China overtaking South Korea to become the second largest country by SVOD homes in 2020.

Pay-TV use among U.S. Netflix streamers relatively stable
Jul 8, 2015 – According to TDG, the use of legacy pay-TV services among Netflix Streamers in the U.S. has declined only three points in the last three years, from 87% to 84%. At the same time, the use of Netflix streaming among pay-TV users has increased 33%.

28% of U.S. TV viewing is now streaming
Jul 8, 2015 – According to a GfK MRI report, more than a quarter (28%) of U.S. TV viewing is now done via digital streaming. Accessing subscription or free online platforms via a computer or mobile device accounts for 16% of time spent with TV content.

Worldwide semiconductor sales expected to grow 2.2% in 2015

OTT video password sharing to cost industry $500 million in 2015
