Wananchi satellite service to launch in Uganda next month
Jul 18, 2011 – Wananchi is to launch its Zuku TV satellite service in Uganda next month. As part of the launch, Wananchi is offering to replace the set-top boxes owned by those who subscribed to the GTV DTH service that failed in 2009.

GOtv pay-DTT service launches in Zambia
Jun 30, 2011 – MultiChoice Zambia (JSE: NPN)(LSE:NPSN) has partnered with the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) to launch pay TV in the country. The DVB-T2 service, called GOtv, is to launch on July 1st with 19 channels.

South Africa to have satellite VOD service

Angola completes initial ISDB-T trials
Apr 11, 2011 – The Fórum SBTVD has announced that the first phases of ISDB-T trials have been completed in Angola. The test signal was broadcast between December 2010 and February 2011 in the capital Luanda, with test receivers installed around the city.
