TivùSat reaches 1.8 million active smart cards
Mar 4, 2013 – Italian satellite TV platform TivùSat has announced that it now has more than 1.8 million active smart cards in 1.5 million households. The regions with the highest penetration levels are Calabria, Liguria, Molise, Valle d'Aosta, Basilicata and Sicily.

Colombia adds 440,000 pay TV subscribers in 2012
Mar 1, 2013 – Colombia's Autoridad Nacional de Televisión (ANTV) has published pay TV subscriber figures for the country up to December 2012. The total number of subscribers grew from 3.87 million at the end of 2011, to 4.31 million at the end of 2012, a year-on-year growth rate of 11.3%.

Satellite subscribers grow 25% in Croatia in 2012
Mar 1, 2013 – The Croatian Post and Electronic Communications Agency (HAKOM) has reported market data for the end of the fourth quarter of 2012. Satellite TV was the fastest growing segment of the television market with subscriptions growing by 25% over the year. IPTV remains the leading pay TV technology with more than 360,000 subscribers.

55% TV digitisation target achieved in India's Phase II cities
Mar 1, 2013 – A review by India's Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has shown that a digitisation rate of over 55% has been achieved in the 38 cities set for digitisation by March 31, 2013. A total of 8.77 million set-top boxes have been installed.

Hitachi to carry out ISDB-T DTT broadcast testing in Mozambique

Deutsche Telekom adds 413,000 Entertain TV subscribers in 2012
Feb 28, 2013 – Deutsche Telekom (Frankfurt: DTE)(NYSE:DT) has released results for 2012. The number of customers with the company's Entertain television service went up by 26.6 percent year-on-year to 2.0 million. Entertain via Sat, available since September 2011, made up 299,000 of the total.

Botswana to go with SBTVD for DTT
