Global pay TV to add subscribers but lose revenues
May 4, 2022 – Digital TV Research expects 19 million more pay TV subscribers to be added between 2021 and 2027, but revenues to decline by $25 billion during the same time frame. IPTV will add 79 million while satellite TV will lose 10 million subscribers over the period.

Comcast cable video subscribers down 512,000 in 1Q 2022
Apr 28, 2022 – Comcast (NASDAQ: CMCSA) has reported results for the quarter ended March 31, 2022. In the quarter, cable video customer net losses were 512,000 and at Sky, Total Customer Relationships decreased by 106,000.

Altice USA residential video RGUs down 74,000 in 1Q 2022
Apr 28, 2022 – Altice USA (NYSE: ATUS) has reported results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2022. Altice finished with 2,658,700 residential video RGUs. Quarterly video net losses were 74,000 in Q1 2022, compared to 54,000 video net losses in Q1 2021.

Orange TV subscribers down 66,000 in 1Q 2022

U.S. TV purchasers more motivated by screen size and picture quality
Apr 26, 2022 – According to NPD, over the last two years the average size of installed TVs in the U.S. has increased by three inches to 47.5". Consumers are also replacing TVs faster than before. The average age of a replaced TV is now 6.4 years, down from 6.8 years in 2020.

Global HBO Max and HBO subscribers up 3.0 million in 1Q 2022
