Altech Multimedia selects Ekioh's Twin Engine UI Browser
Sep 8, 2015 – Ekioh and Altech Multimedia have announced that Altech Multimedia has selected Ekioh's Twin Engine UI Browser for their high end DTR9401 IPTV set top box. The set top box has already been selected by a Middle Eastern network operator.

Vodafone Portugal launches smartwatch TV service
Sep 4, 2015 – Vodafone Portugal has become the first television operator in the world to launch a TV service using a smartwatch. The service allows a customer to watch live TV on their wrist. Initially, the service is only available for the Sony SmartWatch 3.

83% of U.S. households subscribe to a pay TV service
Sep 3, 2015 – According to Leichtman Research Group (LRG), about 83% of all households nationwide subscribe to some form of pay-TV service. The percentage of households that subscribe to a pay-TV service is down from 87% in 2010, but up from 81% in 2005.

Sep 1, 2015 – Validating industry cord-cutting fears, in the second quarter (Q2) of 2015, pay TV companies in the United States posted their worst ever quarterly video subscriber losses, shedding 658,450 subscribers, according to IHS (NYSE:IHS).

Ziggo leads drop in Dutch TV subscriptions in Q2 2015
Aug 28, 2015 – The Dutch TV market lost 17,000 connections during the second quarter of 2015, to end the quarter with 7.85 million subscribers, according to Telecompaper. Cable operators continue to lose market share to IPTV providers.

Ziggo's triple-play market share in Holland under pressure

Portugal adds 36,000 pay TV subscribers in 2Q 2015
Aug 21, 2015 – According to Portugal’s Autoridade Nacional de Comunicações (ANACOM), there were 3.43 million subscribers to subscription TV in the country at the end of the second quarter of 2015, 36,000 more than in the previous quarter.
