Nine countries in the Arab world have IPTV providers
Jun 16, 2015 – In April, fourteen service providers in nine countries in the Arab World offered IPTV services. Research by the Arab Advisors Group revealed that GCC countries had the largest number of IPTV providers in the region.

Free on Demand VOD continues growth in U.S.
Jun 15, 2015 – Rentrak (NASDAQ: RENT) has announced the release of its 'State of VOD: Trend Report'. The report shows that the total time spent viewing Free on Demand (FOD) TV content in the U.S. Broadcast Primetime category has increased 22 percent compared to the previous year.

Moldova pay TV subscribers down 6,462 in 1Q 2015
Jun 10, 2015 – Moldova’s National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) has published pay TV statistics for the first quarter of 2015. The total number of subscribers at the end of the period was 267,577, 6,462 down from the end of 2014, and down 15,734 year-on-year.

Vodafone UK fixed broadband to launch this summer
Jun 10, 2015 – Vodafone UK has launched Vodafone Connect, which will provide broadband and home phone services to customers across the UK later in the summer. Vodafone’s network already reaches exchanges which pass nearly 20 million premises across the UK.

One billion digital TV households
Jun 10, 2015 – About 455 million digital TV homes were added around the world between end-2010 and end-2014, according to Digital TV Research. This took the total to 1,045 million. Digital TV penetration climbed from 40.5% at end-2010 to 67.2% by end-2014.

Sigma Designs reports first quarter FY2016 results
Jun 9, 2015 – Sigma Designs (NASDAQ: SIGM) has reported results for its first quarter, ended May 2, 2015. GAAP net revenues for the first quarter were $55.9 million, up $19.0 million, or 51.6%, from $36.9 million reported for the same period in fiscal 2015.

TDC expands Mediaroom footprint to Norway
Jun 8, 2015 – Alcatel-Lucent (Paris; NYSE: ALU) has announced that it is enabling TDC to expand its delivery of IP-based TV services outside Denmark. Alcatel-Lucent is extending TDC’s existing Mediaroom platform to Norwegian ISP, NextGenTel.

Dutch TV market adds 10,000 subscribers in 1Q 2015
Jun 7, 2015 – The Dutch TV market reported 10,000 net additions during the first quarter of 2015, to end the quarter with 7.87 million subscribers. The growth was driven by 0.6 percent increase in digital TV subscribers, according to Telecompaper.

ALBtelecom to upgrade IPTV with Thomson Video Networks
