Global SVOD subscriptions to grow by 485 million from 2021 to 2027
May 16, 2022 – According to Digital TV Research, Global SVOD subscriptions will increase by 485 million between 2021 and 2027 to reach 1.69 billion. Six US-based platforms will have 988 million paying SVOD subscribers by 2027, up from 612 million in 2021.

Global AVOD revenues to grow to $70 billion by 2027
May 9, 2022 – According to Digital TV Research, Global AVOD revenues will reach $70 billion in 2027, up from $33 billion in 2021. By then, thirteen countries will generate more than $1 billion annually, up from only five in 2021.

Global pay TV to add subscribers but lose revenues
May 4, 2022 – Digital TV Research expects 19 million more pay TV subscribers to be added between 2021 and 2027, but revenues to decline by $25 billion during the same time frame. IPTV will add 79 million while satellite TV will lose 10 million subscribers over the period.

Eastern Europe to add 20 million SVOD subscriptions
Apr 25, 2022 – According to Digital TV Research, this is a massive year for Eastern European SVOD, with rollouts from Disney+, SkyShowtime and HBO Max. The region will have 43 million SVOD subscriptions by 2027; up from 23 million at end-2021.

Eastern Europe to add nine million digital pay TV subscribers
Apr 21, 2022 – According to Digital TV Research, the number of pay TV subscribers in Eastern European will fall from 82 million in the peak year of 2018 to 74 million in 2027. Over the period, analog cable subscribers will drop by 17 million to zero and digital pay TV subscribers will grow by 9 million.

Asia Pacific OTT revenues to climb by $20 billion
Mar 24, 2022 – According to Digital TV Research, Asia Pacific OTT TV revenues will reach $52bn in 2027, up 62% from the $32bn recorded in 2021. Of the additional revenues, China will add $3bn, India $3bn, South Korea $3bn and Japan $5bn.

Western European OTT revenues to reach $45 billion in 2027
Mar 21, 2022 – According to Digital TV Research, Western European OTT TV revenues will reach $45 billion in 2027, up from $26 billion in 2021. Of the additional revenues, the UK will contribute $4 billion, Germany $3 billion, France $3 billion and Italy $2 billion.

Pay TV subscribers in Europe to drop below 100 million
Mar 17, 2022 – According to Digital TV Research, Western Europe will lose 7 million pay TV subscribers between 2021 and 2027 to drop below 100 million. Germany will lose 2 million subscribers, with the UK down by 1.4 million and France nearly 1 million.

Asia Pacific to add 26 million pay TV subscribers
