StarHub adds 4k pay TV subscribers in 4Q09
Feb 4, 2010 – StarHub (Singapore: CC3) has reported 2009 fourth quarter and full year results. As at 31 December 2009, Pay TV subscriber base totaled 539K, a net addition of 4K for the quarter and 15K for the full year period.

TDC adds 24k TV customers in 4Q09
Feb 4, 2010 – TDC (Copenhagen:TDC) has published financial statements for the January-December 2009 period. YouSee's TV customers increased to 1.249 million at the end of September, up from 1.140 million the year before. IPTV customers reached 96,000 at year-end.

Comcast adds 410k digital video customers in 4Q09
Feb 3, 2010 – Comcast (NASDAQ: CMCSA, CMCSK) has reported results for the quarter and year ended December 31, 2009. At the end of the period Comcast's digital video customers totaled 18.4 million, an increase of 410,000 during the quarter.

Ultra-HD Video and 3D Video on the Horizon
Feb 3, 2010 – Pay TV operators are in the early stages of deploying 3D TV capability. Early 3D TVs and 3D Blu-Ray players will ship in 2010. In-Stat projects worldwide 3D TV shipments will reach 41 million in 2014.

MinDig TV receiver sales booming in Hungary
Feb 2, 2010 – According to sales figures from GfK Hungária, at the end of December, around 4.4% of all Hungarian households, or 19.7% of terrestrial households, had a DVB-T MPEG-4 receiver capable of receiving Antenna Hungária's MinDig TV service.

SKY Italia subscribers down 63,000 in 4Q09

248,000 pay TV subscribers added in Chile in 2009
Feb 1, 2010 – Chile's Subsecretaría de Telecomunicaciones (Subtel) has releases pay TV statistics for 2009. During the year satellite subscribers increased from 570,000 to 670,000 and wired (cable TV/IPTV) subscribers grew from 892,000 to 1.039 million.

Record breaking year for Virgin Media on demand TV
Feb 1, 2010 – Virgin Media (NASDAQ, LSE: VMED) saw a record breaking 2009 with over 750 million on demand views, an increase of 50% on the previous 12 months. Over 59 per cent of Virgin Media's 3.7 million TV customers are now regularly using the service.
