IBM Cloud to Deliver Home Entertainment Services for Philips Smart TVs
Aug 31, 2012 – IBM (NYSE: IBM) has unveiled a cloud platform for CE firms and announced that it will power the Philips Smart TV platform for Internet services, which will deliver interactive services to TV viewers in Europe, as well as Brazil and Argentina.

Ginga Argentina 2.0 preview released

Aug 2, 2012 – DIRECTV (NASDAQ:DTV) has reported results for the second quarter of 2012. DIRECTV U.S. ended the quarter with 19.91 million subscribers, up 2% year-on-year. In Q2, DIRECTV Latin America added an all-time record 645,000 subscribers to pass the 9 million mark.

DTH leads the digital boom in Latin America
Jun 20, 2012 – Most Latin American territories are experiencing a surge in digital TV take-up, according to a new report from Digital TV Research. The report forecasts that 103 million homes will have digital TV in 2017, up from 40 million at end-2011.
