Sri Lanka's SupremeSAT satellite launch delayed due to weather
Nov 22, 2012 – The scheduled launch of the SupremeSAT communications satellite has been delayed by five days due to poor weather conditions. The Sri Lankan satellite is intended for direct-to-home (DTH) broadcast television services.

53 million STBs to ship in China this year
Nov 16, 2012 – According to figures on the sarft.net web site, set-top box shipments in China will be close to 53 million this year, up 11.1 million units, or 26.4%, from the 41.9 million units shipped in 2011.

Hathway deploys 1.7 million DAS set-top boxes in Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata
Nov 15, 2012 – According to its results for Q2 FY 13, Hathway (BSE:533162; NSE:HATHWAY) has completed the roll out of DAS in the Phase I cities of Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata. As of end October 2012 the Company had cumulatively deployed 1.7 million set-top boxes in these cities.

One million IPTV subscribers for LG Uplus in Korea
Nov 15, 2012 – According to LG U+'s October 2012 Wireline Factsheet, the number of subscribers to LG's Uplus IPTV service passed the one million mark in October. The October 2012 figure represents a growth of 20.9% over the 828 thousand number reported for October 2011.

IPTV subscribers hit 6 million in Korea
Nov 8, 2012 – According to the Korea Digital Media Industry Association there are now more than 6 million IPTV subscribers in South Korea. The milestone comes less than four years after commercial services were launched at the beginning of 2009.

Thailand's DTT broadcasters may be required to provide free set-top boxes
Nov 4, 2012 – Thailand's National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) has proposed that the companies that win DTT licences coming up for auction next year be required to offer 20 million set-top boxes free of charge to customers.

100% installation of cable set-top boxes in Delhi

Moana TV IPTV to launch in Samoa in December

Fiji TV Chooses Intelsat for DTH in the Pacific Ocean Region
