Charter residential video customers down 33,000 in 2Q 2015
Aug 4, 2015 – Charter Communications has reported results for the three and six months ended June 30, 2015. Residential video customers decreased by 33,000 in the second quarter of 2015, versus a loss of 29,000 in the year-ago period.

Finland's DNA upgrades OTT with Booxmedia and Verimatrix

21% of UK users have accessed TV content illegally
Jul 22, 2015 – A survey, published by the Intellectual Property Office (IPO), shows the latest UK trends in online streaming and downloading. 62% of internet users in the UK have downloaded or streamed music, TV shows, films, computer software, videogames or e-books. This is up from 56% in 2013.

Irdeto and SMiT launch CAM for Transvision in Indonesia
Jul 21, 2015 – Irdeto has announced, with Samsung and SMiT, the launch of the first broadcast Direct-2-TV (D2TV) system for the Indonesian market that does not require a set-top box. Irdeto’s security is integrated with SMiT’s USB CAM and a range of Samsung TVs that do not require IP connectivity.

VTVCab, SmarDTV and Samsung deploy Conax-certified CAM in Vietnam
Jul 20, 2015 – VTVCab, SmarDTV (SIX:KUD.S) and Samsung have announced that they will bring to market a solution to provide access to VTVCab Pay TV services in Vietnam. VTVCab subscribers will then be able to enjoy content on their Samsung Cable TV model without using a set-top box.

MStar integrates Intertrust UHD security for TVs and STBs

OTT video password sharing to cost industry $500 million in 2015
Jul 8, 2015 – Parks Associates has found that OTT video credential sharing will cost the industry $500 million in revenues in 2015. In the U.S., 6% of broadband households use an OTT video service that is paid by a person living outside of the household.
