Pay TV subscriptions continue to grow in Asia-Pacific
Mar 15, 2021 – According to Digital TV Research, Asia Pacific will have 630 million pay TV subscribers by 2026, up from 609 million at end-2020. The number of TV households will grow by 54 million to 979 million.

No growth expected for Latin America pay TV
Mar 4, 2021 – According to Digital TV Research, poorly-performing economies have hit Latin American pay TV with the number of pay TV subscribers falling by 4 million in both 2019 and 2020. The number of pay TV subscribers peaked in 2017.

Pay TV subscriptions still rising, but revenues on the way down
Oct 9, 2020 – Global pay TV revenues peaked in 2016 at $202 billion and will fall to $152 billion in 2025, according to Digital TV Research. This is lower than 2010’s $175 billion - despite the number of pay TV subscribers rising by 345 million.

Recession to cut Latin America pay TV subscribers by 5 million
Mar 9, 2020 – The Latin American pay TV sector has been hit by the recession. The number of pay TV subscribers fell by 4 million in 2019. Digital TV Research forecasts 67 million pay TV subscribers by 2025 – down from 72 million in the peak year of 2017.

Global pay TV subscriptions up, revenues down
Sep 11, 2019 – Digital TV Research forecasts 60 million additional pay TV subscribers between 2018 and 2024 to take the global total to 1.08 billion. China will provide 19 million and India 26 million. The US will lose 14.4 million pay TV subscribers.

Global pay TV subscriptions to grow to 1.10 billion by 2024
Jun 13, 2019 – Digital TV Research forecasts 81 million additional pay TV subscribers between 2018 and 2024 - up by 8%. This will take the global total to 1.10 billion. Based on forecasts for 138 countries, the number of pay TV subs passed 1 billion in 2018.

Pay TV revenues to fall to 2010 levels
Jun 6, 2019 – Worldwide pay TV revenues peaked in 2016 at $205 billion, according to Digital TV Research. Revenues will fall by 14% to $177 billion in 2024. This is the same level as 2010 - despite the number of pay TV subscribers climbing by 380 million.

Digital conversion boosts Eastern European pay TV
Apr 24, 2019 – According to Digital TV Research, Pay TV revenues in Eastern Europe will peak at $6.95 billion in 2019 - before slowly falling to $6.59 billion by 2024. Analog cable revenues will mostly disappear, while digital pay TV revenues increase.
