IPTV drives Asia’s pay TV growth
Mar 11, 2019 – According to Digital TV Research, the Asia Pacific pay TV sector is vibrant, with both subscribers and revenues expected to rise over the next five years. However, the numbers are lower than previously forecast, mainly due to cable subscribers in China converting to OTT.

Global pay TV revenues to fall by 11%
Apr 16, 2018 – According to Digital TV Research, global pay TV revenues peaked in 2016 at $205 billion. Revenues will fall by 11% to $183 billion in 2023, despite the number of pay TV subscribers rising by 9%.

Asia Pacific to add 78 million pay TV subscribers
Apr 5, 2018 – The Asia Pacific pay TV sector is bucking the downward trends in much of the rest of the world. Subscribers will grow by 78 million and revenues by $2.73 billion between 2017 and 2023, according to Digital TV Research.

Western Europe pay TV subs up, revenues down
Mar 26, 2018 – Western European pay TV will gain subscribers between 2017 and 2023. Although this only represents a 2.6% increase, Digital TV Research expects three million more subscribers to be added to take the total to 106 million.

Eastern Europe digital pay TV subscribers to grow 27% between 2017 and 2023
Mar 19, 2018 – The number of digital pay TV subscribers in Eastern Europe will increase from 25.49 million in 2010 to 61.57 million in 2017 and onto 78.08 million by 2023, according to a new Digital TV Research report.

Latin America pay TV decelerates
Mar 6, 2018 – Although the economic recession waned somewhat in 2017, the Latin American pay TV sector was still affected. According to Digital TV Research, the number of pay TV subscribers was flat year-on-year.

Global pay TV revenues climb by $32 billion
Jun 19, 2017 – Pay TV revenues for 138 countries increased by $32 billion between 2010 and 2016 to reach $202 billion. However, only $1.23 billion was added in 2016, according to Digital TV Research.

Global pay TV subscribers reach 969 million

May 15, 2017 – Digital TV Research forecasts 134 million additional pay TV subscribers between 2016 and 2022 to take the total to 1.09 billion. The number of pay TV subscribers will pass the 1 billion mark in early 2018.
