Fiji plans National Platform for conversion to digital TV
Aug 3, 2014 – At the the 60th anniversary celebrations of the Fiji Broadcasting Corporation (FBC), Fiji's Prime Minister announced plans for a National Digital Television Platform as part of the country's conversion to digital television broadcasting.

AsiaSat 8 launch set for 5th of August
Aug 1, 2014 – AsiaSat 8 is scheduled for launch on 5 August from Cape Canaveral. The satellite has 24 Ku-band transponders and a Ka-band payload. The additional capacity will help meet the growing demand for satellite services, including DTH television, in the Asia-Pacific region.

Next DIRECTV satellites to provide capacity for 4K

DIRECTV US down 34,000 subscribers; DTVLA up 543,000 in 2Q 2014
Jul 31, 2014 – DIRECTV (NASDAQ:DTV) has reported second quarter 2014 results. DIRECTV U.S. net subscriber loss was 34 thousand. Sky Brasil and PanAmericana achieved record-breaking gross subscriber additions resulting in DTVLA net customer additions of 543,000.

Charter video subscribers down 29,000 in 2Q 2014
