Netflix now in over 1 in 10 Australian homes
Oct 15, 2015 – The number of Australian homes with a Netflix subscription rose again in September to 968,000 (10.5%), up another 113,000 from 855,000 in August, according to the latest S-VOD data from Roy Morgan Research.

4K Ultra HD TV market to hit 330 million units by 2019
Oct 14, 2015 – According to Parks Associates, more than 330 million 4K UHD TVs will be sold globally by the end of 2019. Of U.S. broadband households planning to purchase a flat-panel TV in 2015, 56% think that 4K picture quality is an important feature.

Worldwide semiconductor sales expected to decline 0.8% in 2015
Oct 9, 2015 – Worldwide semiconductor revenue is forecast to total $337.8 billion in 2015, a decline of 0.8 percent from 2014, according to Gartner. This is first decline in revenue since 2012 when the market declined 2.6 percent.

Mediaset Premium pay-TV subscriptions end 3Q 2015 at 1,815,000
Oct 9, 2015 – Initial positive results from the new Mediaset Premium offer show that on 30 September the number of pay-TV subscriptions had risen to 1,815,000. On 30 June, Mediaset Premium subscriptions stood at 1,703,000.

Pay TV operators to add 200 million subscribers by 2020
Oct 8, 2015 – Pay TV subscriptions for 338 operators across 89 countries will increase by 200 million from a collective 704 million in 2014 to 904 million by 2020, according to a report from Digital TV Research. The report estimates that 29 operators had more than 5 million paying subs by end-2014.

More than 69 million pay TV subscribers in Latin America in Q2 2015
Oct 7, 2015 – According to Dataxis, the Latin American pay-TV market has exceeded 69 million subscribers, equivalent to a 37.7% penetration of total households. Satellite once again leads the technology ranking but has lost share.
