Consumer Electronics in Central Eastern Europe Booming

Hungary - Digital switch-over about to start
Aug 22, 2007 – Having the approval of the ad hoc committee of the Parliament, the National Communications Authority (NHH) posted for public debate on its website the documentation of the tender call announced for national terrestrial digital television (DVB-T) and radio (T-DAB) free-to-air broadcasting, which is to serve as the basis of the digital switch-over.

Liberty Global Reports Second Quarter 2007 Results
Aug 8, 2007 – Liberty Global had 23.1 million total RGUs at June 30, 2007, with 14.7 million video, 4.9 million broadband Internet and 3.5 million telephony subscribers. The 14.7 million video subscribers consisted of 10.9 million analog cable, 2.8 million digital cable and 1.0 million DTH subscribers.

Eastern Europe promises digital delight
Jul 30, 2007 – A new research report from Informa Telecoms & Media, has found that central and eastern Europe is making great strides in the upgrade to digital TV. The report has found that the eight million digital homes at present will grow to 34.8 million by 2012.
