Pay-TV Accounts to Surpass 1 Billion in 2014
May 31, 2012 – Pyramid Research expects that pay TV accounts will surpass the 1 billion mark in 2014 globally, with cable accounting for 58 percent of the total, down from 66 percent in 2011. By end-2014, IPTV subscriptions will exceed 100 million.

Dutch digital TV connections grow 2.5% in first quarter of 2012

Sigma Designs Reports First Quarter Fiscal 2013 Results
May 23, 2012 – Sigma Designs (NASDAQ: SIGM) has reported results for its first fiscal quarter ended April 28, 2012. Net revenue for the quarter was $40.3 million, down $20.3 million, or 34%, from $60.6 million reported for the same period last year.

Number of digital cable subscribers in Romania doubled in 2011
May 22, 2012 – ANCOM has published its half-yearly report on the Romanian electronic communications market for the second half of 2011. The total number of pay TV subscribers was 5.85 million at the end of 2011, up 2% compared with the end of 2010.
