Telefónica takes the lead in pay TV subscribers in Spain
Apr 11, 2015 – Spain’s Markets and Competition Commission (CNMC) has published statistics for the fourth quarter of 2014. In the quarter, total pay TV subscribers rose by 350,000 to pass the 5 million mark, driven once again almost entirely by growth in IPTV subscribers at Telefónica.

Telefónica to offer OTT TV on Windows Phone-based devices
Mar 3, 2015 – Telefónica (NYSE:TEF) and Microsoft (NYSE:MSFT) have announced a joint initiative for the provision of OTT TV on devices with Windows Phone OS. Telefónica’s Movistar TV Go service for Windows Phone 8.1 will enable Telefónica users to enjoy TV content just by speaking into the phone.

Telefónica adds 437,000 pay TV subscribers in 4Q 2014
Feb 25, 2015 – Telefónica has presented its FY 2014 results. Pay TV accesses totaled 5.1 million, up 48% year-on-year in organic terms, on the back of 437 thousand net additions in the final quarter. In Spain, Pay TV accesses almost tripled over the year.

Telefónica Pay TV subscribers down 35,000 in 1Q 2014

In Colombia, Pay TV penetration reaches 60%
Feb 19, 2014 – BB-Business Bureau has determined that in Colombia there were 7.75 million Pay TV Subscribers at the end of 2013, representing a 13% increase in subscribers versus December 2012.
