Mongolia begins transition to digital TV
Aug 3, 2014 – According to the UB Post, Mongolia began the transition to digital TV broadcasting on July 31st. In the first phase, ten DVB-T2 transmitters are being installed in the capital, Ulaanbaatar, and 244 transmitters in municipal districts.

Fiji plans National Platform for conversion to digital TV

AsiaSat 8 launch set for 5th of August
Aug 1, 2014 – AsiaSat 8 is scheduled for launch on 5 August from Cape Canaveral. The satellite has 24 Ku-band transponders and a Ka-band payload. The additional capacity will help meet the growing demand for satellite services, including DTH television, in the Asia-Pacific region.

India registers 1.85 million additional DTH subscribers in 1Q 2014
Jul 30, 2014 – TRAI has released telecoms statistics for the quarter ending March, 2014. As on 31.03.2014 the total registered and active subscriber bases of the countries private DTH licensees were 64.82 million and 37.19 million respectively.

Asia Pacific OTT TV to surge to $10 billion

Thailand's NBTC proposes ฿690 DTT receiver subsidy coupon
