CRTC releases results for Canadian broadcasting distributors
Mar 18, 2010 – Canada's CRTC has released summaries for Canadian broadcasting distribution. At end-2009, the number of households obtaining basic TV service from a cable company was 8.1 million. The equivalent number for DTH and MDS was 2.8 million.

Videotron adds 42k digital cable subscribers in 4Q09
Mar 10, 2010 – Quebecor (Toronto: QBR.A; QBR.B) has reported its annual and fourth quarter results for 2009. At December 31, 2009, Videotron had 1,777,000 cable television customers, including 1,084,100 subscribers to its illico Digital TV service.

Rogers adds 39k digital cable subscribers in 4Q09
Feb 17, 2010 – Rogers Communications (TSX: RCI.a; RCI.b)(NYSE: RCI) has announced results for the quarter ended December 31, 2009. The digital cable subscriber base grew by 7% from December 31, 2008 to December 31, 2009, to 72% of television households.

Bell TV adds 41k subscribers in 4Q09; plans IPTV in 2010
Feb 4, 2010 – BCE (TSX, NYSE: BCE) has reported results for the fourth quarter of 2009. Bell announced plans for the introduction of IPTV later in 2010. Total TV subscribers increased by 41,000 in the quarter to give 1,949,000 TV subscribers at year-end.

Jan 13, 2010 – COGECO (TSX: CGO) has announced results for the quarter ended November 30, 2009. In Canada Digital Television service net additions stood at 16,106. In Europe (Cabovisão) Digital Television service customers grew by 16,114.
