2.5 million Australian households to have VR headsets by 2020

InfoSat-Laos launches DTH on THAICOM 8

Freeview Australia app coming in November
Oct 10, 2016 – Freeview Australia has announced that its mobile app, delivering FTA TV channels with just one click, will launch in November. The new live streaming service is branded Freeview FV and will deliver TV into viewers’ hands, extending viewing out of the home.

India's GSAT-18 satellite successfully launched
Oct 6, 2016 – India’s communication satellite GSAT-18 was launched successfully by the European Ariane 5 VA-231 launch Vehicle. The 3404 kg GSAT-18 carries 48 communication transponders in C-band, upper extended C-band and Ku-bandy.

Foxtel to revamp Foxtel Play and close Presto TV
Oct 4, 2016 – Foxtel has announced a new look Foxtel Play streaming service, which will roll out from December 2016. Presto customers will be asked to move to Foxtel Play and the Presto service will cease on 31 January 2017.

NHK develops Super Hi-Vision prototype cable TV receiver

PCCW selects Edgeware for 4K TV delivery
Sep 29, 2016 – Edgeware has been selected by Hong Kong's PCCW to deliver 4K VoD content to its pay-TV service, Now TV and Now Player app, as well as HD content to ViuTV’s mobile OTT service. ViuTV is a free TV service provided by PCCW in Hong Kong.
