India registers 2.75 million additional DTH subscribers in 2Q 2014
Nov 7, 2014 – The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released telecoms statistics for the second quarter. The total number of DTH subscribers was 67.57 million registered and 38.24 million active at 30th June 2014.

Ghana's Crystal TV takes capacity on EUTELSAT 16A
Nov 7, 2014 – Eutelsat (Paris: ETL) has announced that it has sealed a ten-year contract with Crystal TV for capacity on EUTELSAT 16A. The capacity enables Crystal TV to provide countrywide coverage of Ghana for its digital TV platform.

NSS-806 satellite at 48°E wins regulatory approval in Brazil
Nov 6, 2014 – SES (Paris;LuxX:SESG) has announced that ANATEL, the Brazilian National Telecommunications Agency, has approved the NSS-806 satellite for use at the 48 degree West orbital position recently awarded at auction to SES.

Kyrgyzstan begins DVB-T2 broadcasting
Nov 6, 2014 – Kyrgyztelekom has announced that it has begun DVB-T2 terrestrial broadcasting in the Kyrgyz Republic. The DVB-T2 broadcasting equipment tender was won by Kvant-Efir, with satellite capacity provided by Eutelsat.

DIRECTV US down 28,000 subscribers; DTVLA down 119,000 in 3Q 2014
Nov 6, 2014 – DIRECTV (NASDAQ:DTV) has announced third quarter 2014 results. DIRECTV U.S. subscriber net losses were approximately 28,000 in the third quarter. DIRECTV Latin America subscriber net losses were approximately 119,000 in the quarter.
