Macedonia Opens Bids Received for DVB-T
Feb 4, 2009 – The President of the Commission for performing the public tender for DVB-T performed the public opening of the bids and it was found that only one Bid had been submitted, by the interested company Telekom-Slovenia dd.

35% of France's ADSL subscribers have TV-over-DSL
Feb 4, 2009 – France's telecoms authority, ARCEP, has published its latest market survey up to the end of the third quarter 2008. At the end of the period, 35% of ADSL subscribers, or 5.6 million, were also subscribing to TV-over-DSL.

ZON Multimédia (TV Cabo) 4Q08 Operating Update
Feb 4, 2009 – ZON Multimedia (Lisbon: ZON) has released an update ahead of its 4Q08 consolidated results. The number of subscribers to ZON's digital extended package increased by 50 thousand in 4Q08, to 496 thousand subscribers at the end of 2008.

Kabel Deutschland Digital Pay TV up 10.9%
Feb 3, 2009 – Kabel Deutschland (KDG) has announced subscriber figures for its 2008/9 third quarter (October 1 to December 31). At the end of December, the subscription figure for KDG's Digital Pay TV offering was up 82,900 on the year before to 846,300.

Germany's number of IPTV customers grows to over half a million
Feb 1, 2009 – According to BITKOM, the voice of the information technology, telecommunications, and new media industry in Germany, the number of IPTV subscribers in Germany at the end of 2008 was 536,000, up from 180,000 at the end of 2007.

Unitymedia Strong New Services Growth Continues

Lattelecom Announces New-Generation TV
Jan 27, 2009 – The Latvian Cabinet of Ministers has decided that Lattelecom will be the provider of digital terrestrial television programming. Terrestrial broadcasts will be based on state-of-the-art technologies such as MPEG-4 compression.

KPN solid full-year 2008 results
Jan 27, 2009 – KPN (Amsterdam:KPN) group revenues and other income in Q4 were up €59m to €3.7bn. At the end of Q4 2008, KPN had 775k TV (Digitenne DTT and IPTV) customers, of which around 40k were IPTV customers. In addition, KPN had 30k DVB-H subscribers.
