MEDIA BROADCAST awarded DVB-T2 operator licence for Germany
Mar 17, 2015 – Germany's State Media Authorities have awarded MEDIA BROADCAST the contract to provide the country's DVB-T2 DTT platform. Construction of the new platform will begin in spring of 2016.

'itself' planning Czech DTH TV service
Mar 14, 2015 – According to Parabola, telecoms operator 'itself' is in negotiations with Telekom Austria to launch a DTH satellite TV service in the Czech Republic. itself would take advantage of Telekom Austria's white label ‘direct2home’ B2B platform to offer the service.

Levira launches HbbTV service in Estonia
Mar 13, 2015 – Estonian digital television operator Levira has started hybrid-TV services on their Freeview “TasutaTV” terrestrial TV platform. The hybrid services and platform have been developed together with Sofia Digital.

Mar 11, 2015 – Mediametrie has released results from its Médiamat’Thématik survey of the French television market. According to the survey, out of a total of 59.093 million TV households in the country, 44.099 million receive their TV service via satellite, cable or over DSL.

France's Free launches first Android TV 4K STB and gateway
Mar 10, 2015 – Free, a subsidiary of France's Iliad Group, has announced the launch of its 'Freebox mini 4K' the world's first Ultra HD gateway/set-top box combination to run Android TV. Designed by Free's own Freebox R&D team, the gateway consists of two units - a Server and a Player.

Dutch TV market grows in Q4 driven by IPTV via DSL, fibre
Mar 8, 2015 – According to a Telecompaper report, the Dutch TV market reported 20,000 net additions during the fourth quarter of 2014, to end the year with 7.76 million subscribers. The growth was driven by 0.6 percent increase in digital TV subscribers.

Dial Telecom launches KUKI TV for its fibre customers in the Czech Republic

Portugal adds 179,300 pay TV subscribers in 2014
Mar 5, 2015 – According to Portugal’s Autoridade Nacional de Comunicações (ANACOM), there were 3.35 million subscribers to subscription TV in the country at the end of 2014, 55,800 (+1.7 percent) more than in the previous quarter, and an extra 179,300 (+5.7 percent) compared with the end of 2013.
