América Móvil ends 2Q 2012 with 15.1 million pay TV clients
Jul 26, 2012 – América Móvil (BMV;NYSE:AMX, NASDAQ:AMOV, LATIBEX:XAMXL) has announced results for the second quarter of 2012. At the end of June the company had 15.1 million Pay TV clients, up 30.9% over the year.

Satellite TV boom to continue
Jul 25, 2012 – According to a report from Digital TV Research, the number of pay DTH (DBS) homes for the 80 countries covered will be 220 million by end-2017, up from 154 million at end-2011 and 91 million at end-2007. India will lead the sector with 50.9 million pay DTH homes in 2017.

Satellite adds another 700,000 subscribers in Brazil in Q2 2012
Jul 23, 2012 – According to Brazil's Agência Nacional de Telecomunicações (Anatel), the country's pay TV subscriber base ended June 2012 at 14.535 million, with more than 3.4 million new subscribers being added over the preceding twelve months - an annual growth rate of 30.9%.

2.09 million pay TV subscribers in Chile at end March 2012
Jul 12, 2012 – Chile's Subsecretaría de Telecomunicaciones (Subtel) has released pay TV statistics to end-March 2012. Pay TV subscriber numbers grew from 1.972 million at end-March 2011 to 2.092 million, up 6.1% year-on-year.

1.3 billion digital TV households by 2017
Jul 3, 2012 – Based on forecasts for 80 countries, the number of digital TV homes will double between 2011 and 2017 to 1,323 million, according to a Digital TV Research. Global digital penetration will climb from 48.6% at end-2011 to 86.7% by 2017.
