ONO cable TV subscribers down 6.2% in 2009
Mar 16, 2010 – Grupo Corporativo ONO of Spain has announced consolidated unaudited results for the quarter ended 31 December 2009. Cable television customers decreased by 64,000 or 6.2% in the last twelve months, reaching 975,000 as of 31 December 2009.

CANAL+ Spain to launch 3D transmissions in April
Mar 2, 2010 – CANAL+ (Madrid: PRS) will begin broadcasting a 3D channel - Canal Plus 3D - in April, the first such service in Spain. Customers will be able to receive the programming through their DIGITAL+ set-top box in conjunction with a 3D-capable TV.

Telefónica España adds 49k IPTV subscribers in 4Q09
Feb 26, 2010 – Telefónica (Madrid and NYSE: TEF) has released its fourth quarter 2009 results. Worldwide, pay TV accesses stood at around 2.5 million at the end of 2009, 9.8% up from a year earlier. In Spain net adds were 48,725 to finish the year at 702,980.

France Telecom adds 301,000 TV subscribers in 4Q09
Feb 25, 2010 – France Telecom (Paris & NYSE: FTE) has released its fourth quarter and full year 2009 results. France Telecom had 3.2 million digital TV (IPTV and satellite) subscribers at the end of 2009, a 53% increase in the year, and up 301,000 in the quarter.

FTTH growth accelerates in Europe

Nagravision licenses conditional access to CAM maker E-DOMUS

Spain - February DTT monthly update released
Feb 11, 2010 – According to Impulsa-TDT, 1.36 million DTT receivers were sold in December, giving a cumulative total for Spain of 25.5 million units. Penetration of DTT in January was 80.8%, up by 3.4 percentage points since the end of 2009.
