BBC iPlayer breaks new record of 100 million requests
Jan 14, 2010 – New figures show that BBC iPlayer reached a new landmark, as the on-demand service broke 100 million requests for programmes in a month for the first time. One-in-eight requests for TV programmes are now coming from a games console.

Shaw adds 89k digital TV subscribers in quarter to end-November
Jan 14, 2010 – Shaw Communications (TSX: SJR.B, NYSE: SJR) announced results for the first quarter ended November 30, 2009. During the quarter Digital cable customers were up 88,259 to 1,409,983, and DTH customers increased 1,097.

Skylink DTH exceeds 900,000 active cards
Jan 13, 2010 – Skylink, the DTH satellite service operating in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, has announced that it now has more than 900,000 active customers. Skylink has 660 thousand active cards in the Czech Republic and 240 thousand in Slovakia.

Cogeco digital cable up 32k subscribers in quarter to end-November
Jan 13, 2010 – COGECO (TSX: CGO) has announced results for the quarter ended November 30, 2009. In Canada Digital Television service net additions stood at 16,106. In Europe (Cabovisão) Digital Television service customers grew by 16,114.

Spain - January DTT monthly update released
Jan 12, 2010 – According to Impulsa-TDT, 785,000 DTT receivers were sold in November, giving a cumulative total for Spain of 24.2 million units. Based on reporting from TNS Sofres, penetration of DTT in Spanish households was 77.4% in December.
