Sweden - Strong competition for Boxer in Q3
Oct 7, 2008 – At the end of September, Sweden's Boxer pay DTT service had 696,000 subscribers, a decrease of 5,000 in the third quarter, though still 3,000 more than at the same date last year. Boxer has also approved its first terrestrial PVR (from Sagem).

Oct 7, 2008 – Since 3rd October, Cyfrowy Dom has started offering viewers Telewizja na karte - TNK ('TV on card'). To receive TNK, viewers will be required to buy a decoder using Conax CA, supplied by TechniSat Digital.

Tiscali Teams with Cisco for Launch of Innovative Tiscali.tv IP Television Service in Italy

Spain - 37.4% of households have DTT reception
Oct 2, 2008 – According to Spain's Instituto Nacional de Estadística (INE), two years from analogue shutdown, planned for April 2010, only 37.4% of households have terrestrial digital television reception (DTT).

France - First digital TV survey results released
Oct 2, 2008 – France's digital TV 'Observatoire' has made public the results of its first half 2008 study. Nearly 30% of households are fully digital with digital terrestrial television providing most of the growth. TV over ADSL also made significant advances.

Premiere Releases Q3 Subscriber Figures
Oct 2, 2008 – Premiere AG (PRE.XE) has disclosed EBITDA guidance for 2008 and released Q3 2008 subscriber numbers using a new classification. 940,000 that would have been included using the previous subscriber classification have been excluded.
