WirelessHD® 60GHz CE Products Arrive in Europe
Sep 3, 2009 – The WirelessHD® Consortium has announced that the European Union has approved the 60GHz band for unlicensed commercial use and WirelessHD products are now available in Europe. Products will be showcased at the IFA Expo in Berlin.

Malta's GO hits 40,000 digital TV subscriber mark
Aug 6, 2009 – GO has hit and surpassed the 40,000 subscriber mark for its digital tv service with an increase of 10,000 customers in the last eight months.

DMB countries join forces for mobile TV push
Jun 11, 2009 – Five countries engaged with DMB have established an organization that will support mobile TV services via DMB and related services. The International DMB Advancement Group (IDAG) has members from the Netherlands, Norway, UK, Malta and Italy.

European Commission paves the way for European mobile satellite services
May 14, 2009 – The European Commission has selected two operators, Inmarsat Ventures and Solaris Mobile, to provide mobile satellite services, such as high-speed internet access, mobile television and radio or emergency communications, across Europe.

Malta to set up free-to-air DTT network
Apr 17, 2009 – Digital Switchover in Malta will involve the setting up of a General Interest Objective (GIO) network. All transmissions on the GIO network will be unencrypted and therefore viewable without subscription and free of charge.

EU Member States on course for analogue terrestrial TV switch-off
Feb 16, 2009 – The switch-off of analogue terrestrial TV transmission in Europe is well on track. Switch-off has already been completed in five Member States and by 2010 the process should be well advanced in the whole EU.
