Planned EU tax could kill mobile TV
Dec 23, 2008 – European Commission plans to introduce a 14 percent tax on cellphones with TV receivers would kill the potentially lucrative market before it ever takes off, a senior official at DiBcom has said.

IPTV Takes Root in Central and Eastern Europe, IDC Says

Eesti Telekom Reports 3rd Quarter and first nine months 2008
Oct 24, 2008 – Sales revenues of the Eesti Telekom Group (Tallin: ETLAT) in the third quarter of 2008 reached 100.1 million EUR (3rd quarter 2007: 103.1 million EUR). By the end of the third quarter, Elion had 75.4 thousand IP- and cable television clients.

TEO revenues grew by 5.3 per cent for the nine months of 2008
Oct 16, 2008 – The total consolidated revenue of TEO LT, AB Group (Vilnius:TEO1L) for the nine months of 2008 was LTL 613 million. The total number of main telephone lines in service was 772.1 thousand, while the number of TV users (IPTV and DVB-T) - 47.5 thousand.
