Spain - March DTT monthly update released
Mar 11, 2009 – According to Impulsa-TDT, January sales of DTV tuners in Spain once again exceeded one million units (1,123,439). The total volume of DTT receivers sold since 2003 is now over 16.3 million units.

France Telecom 2008 annual results
Mar 4, 2009 – France Telecom (Paris & NYSE: FTE) has reased its 2008 results. Digital and satellite TV subscribers rose to 2.1 million in Europe at 31 December 2008 (mainly in France), compared with 1.2 million a year earlier, an increase of 66%.

Telefónica Quarterly Results 2008 January - December
Feb 26, 2009 – Telefónica (Madrid and NYSE: TEF) has released its 2008 results. Pay TV accesses stood at over 2.2 million at the end of 2008, up almost 30% on the prior year, driven by net adds of 109,500 in the fourth quarter and some 519,500 in the year.

PRISA's EBITDA reached €948 million
Feb 19, 2009 – Grupo PRISA (Madrid: PRS) has reported full-year revenue of 4,001.35 million euros for 2008. Average Digital+ subscriber revenue per head was 44.5 euros per month over the fourth quarter of 2008, with a total subscriber base of 2,035,000.

EU Member States on course for analogue terrestrial TV switch-off

Spain - February DTT monthly update released
Feb 9, 2009 – According to Impulsa-TDT, at the start of 2009, Spain's technical coverage of the digital signal reaches over 92% of the population which means that in terms of equipment, well over 15 million tuners have been sold since the re-launch of DTT.

Spanish judge orders open decoder market
Jan 26, 2009 – A judge of the Provincial Court of Madrid (Audiencia Provincial de Madrid) has ruled that the pay-TV operator Sogecable and its subsidiary Digital+ have to open up the market for decoders of the service.

Jan 12, 2009 – According to Impulsa-TDT, DTT coverage in Spain increased further to reach over 90% at the close of 2008. Equipment with built-in DTT, mainly TVs, achieved some of the highest sales figures of the year in November.
