Pace to launch new HD set-top box to Viasat across Scandinavia

European Commission paves the way for European mobile satellite services
May 14, 2009 – The European Commission has selected two operators, Inmarsat Ventures and Solaris Mobile, to provide mobile satellite services, such as high-speed internet access, mobile television and radio or emergency communications, across Europe.

YouSee cable up 5%, TDC IPTV looks promising
May 7, 2009 – Denmark's TDC (Copenhagen:TDC) has published financial results for the first quarter of 2009. YouSee ended the quarter with 1.167 million subscribers, up 5.3% year-on-year. In January 2009, TDC introduced its HomeTrio broadband multi-play product.

Telenor (Canal Digital) subscribers fall in Q1
May 5, 2009 – Telenor (Oslo:TEL) has released results for the first quarter of 2009. The number of Canal Digital DTH subscribers decreased by 17,000 and the number of Telenor cable subscribers fell by 7,000 during the quarter.

TeliaSonera January-March 2009
Apr 24, 2009 – TeliaSonera (Stockholm: TLSN) net sales increased 11.5 percent to SEK 27,204 million (24,398). The total number of TV subscriptions rose by 100,000 from the first quarter 2008 to 688,000, of which 509,000 were IPTV subscriptions, up 102,000.

MTG (Viasat) Q1 2009 Interim Report
Apr 22, 2009 – Modern Times Group (OMX: MTGA, MTGB) has announced results for the quarter ended 31 March 2009. The number of subscribers with ViasatPlus recordable digital boxes increased to 122,000 from 115,000 at the end of 2008.

Tough competition in Swedish digital-TV market continues for Boxer
Apr 16, 2009 – As at 31 March, Boxer had 680,000 digital-TV subscribers. This figure applies to both Sweden and the new operation in Denmark. Overall, the number of customers in Sweden continues to fall as a result of increasing competition.
