Telekom Austria acquires Croatia's Digi TV DTH provider through Vipnet subsidiary

Piracy clampdown boosts Middle East & North Africa pay TV revenues
Mar 6, 2013 – The number of pay TV homes in the Middle East and North Africa will double between 2011 and 2018 to 16.0 million, according to a report from Digital TV Research. The report forecasts that fewer than 15% of TV households (analog and digital) legitimately paid for TV signals by end-2012. This proportion will climb to 21.6% by 2018.

Portugal adds 186,000 pay TV subscribers in 2012
Mar 5, 2013 – According to Portugal's Autoridade Nacional de Comunicações (ANACOM), there were 3.12 million subscribers to subscription TV at the end of the 4th Quarter of 2012, 14 thousand (+0.5 percent) more than in the previous quarter, and an extra 186 thousand (6.3 percent) compared to the end of 2011.

Netherlands adds 560,000 digital TV subscribers in year to September 2012
Mar 5, 2013 – The Netherlands' Independent Post and Telecommunications Authority (OPTA) has published figures on the communication markets in the country for Q3 2012. The number of digital TV subscribers at the end of the quarter increased 9.8% compared with the end of the same period of 2011.
