WirelessHD® 60GHz CE Products Arrive in Europe
Sep 3, 2009 – The WirelessHD® Consortium has announced that the European Union has approved the 60GHz band for unlicensed commercial use and WirelessHD products are now available in Europe. Products will be showcased at the IFA Expo in Berlin.

Austria subsidises HD cable receivers
Aug 31, 2009 – The majority of homes in Austria have already converted to digital TV. However, cable TV, used by 43% of Austrian households, is only 16% digital. For this reason, RTR has set up a €2 million fund to subsidise the purchase of cable TV receivers.

Sky Deutschland subscribers down 7k in 2Q09
Aug 13, 2009 – Sky Deutschland (PRE.XE) has announced results for the second quarter of 2009. Sky had a total of 2.364m direct subscribers at the end of Q2 2009, 7k less than in Q1 2009.

Liberty Global adds 370k digital cable subscribers in 2Q09
Aug 4, 2009 – Liberty Global (NASDAQ: LBTYA, LBTYB and LBTYK) has announced results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2009. Digital cable remains the strongest of segment, with the addition of 370,000 subscribers in the three months ended June 30, 2009.

Pace wins new business with Sky Deutschland for HD rollout
Jul 27, 2009 – German pay TV operator Sky has selected high definition (HD) technology from Pace (LSE:PIC) for its set-top box deployments in Germany and Austria. The deployment, rolling out from August 2009, is to support Sky's HD expansion plans.

Premiere subscribers down 28k in Q1 '09
May 14, 2009 – Premiere AG (PRE.XE) has announced results for Q1 2009. Premiere had a total of 2.371m direct subscribers at the end of Q1 2009, a reduction of 28k from 2.399m at 31 December 2008.

European Commission paves the way for European mobile satellite services
