Global pay TV revenues reached US$155 billion in 2010
Jun 13, 2011 – About 338 million digital homes were added around the world between 2006 and 2010, according to a report from Digital TV Research. The Digital TV World Databook estimated that this took the digital TV household total for the countries covered to 576 million.

Claro launches satellite DTH service in Paraguay

Venezuela ends Q1 2011 with 2.57 million Pay TV subscribers
May 19, 2011 – According to statistics published by its Comisión Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (CONATEL), pay TV subscriptions in Venezuela at the end of the first quarter of 2011 were 2.57 million, up from 2.42 million at the end of the same quarter of 2010.

491,000 pay TV subscribers in Uruguay at end-2010
May 2, 2011 – The Uruguayan communications regulator, URSEC, has released a survey of the telecommunications market in Uruguay up to the end of December 2010. The number of Pay TV subscribers at year-end was 491,000.
