EBU drive will bring Hybrid TV into European homes in 2012
Dec 1, 2011 – More than 20 EBU Members have agreed to collaborate to unlock the full potential of Hybrid TV for a European rollout of the technology in 2012. The announcement came as the EBU opened its 67th General Assembly, at the EBU headquarters, in Geneva.

Vestel Deploys Entropic Communications' Multi-Mode Hybrid Silicon Tuner
Nov 21, 2011 – Entropic Communications (Nasdaq:ENTR) has announced that its EN4020 multi-mode hybrid RF CMOS silicon tuner has been selected by Vestel. Vestel will incorporate the tuner into a variety of DVB-T and DVB-T2 set-top boxes (STBs).

EU Court of Justice rules against prohibitions on the import, sale or use of foreign decoder cards
Oct 4, 2011 – A system of licences for the broadcasting of football matches which grants broadcasters territorial exclusivity on a Member State basis and which prohibits television viewers from watching the broadcasts with a decoder card in other Member States is contrary to EU law.

IPTV will reach 60 million subscriptions in the EU by 2020
Sep 28, 2011 – As broadband subscriptions continue to grow in the EU27, Point Topic has announced analysis on how many subscribers there will be and how many will take an IPTV service as well. According to the analyst firm, IPTV is set to treble by 2020.
