Planned EU tax could kill mobile TV
Dec 23, 2008 – European Commission plans to introduce a 14 percent tax on cellphones with TV receivers would kill the potentially lucrative market before it ever takes off, a senior official at DiBcom has said.

Spain - December DTT monthly update released
Dec 16, 2008 – October saw exceptionally high DTT equipment sales with 675,000 receivers sold, bringing Spain's cumulative figure to 13.6 million units. October was only 12,000 units short of January's total, which remains the best month of the year.

RTVE and Abertis Telecom sign agreement to supply 100% of Spanish homes with DTT
Dec 4, 2008 – Televisión Española and Abertis Telecom have signed an agreement to ensure that 100% of the Spanish population can receive TVE's DTT programmes. Terrestrial will reach 98.5% of the population with the remaining 1.5% being covered via satellite.

Telefónica earns €5,596 million to September and confirms all growth forecasts for 2008
