DTT penetration reaches 69.5% in Japan
Nov 7, 2009 – Japan's Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications has estimated that 69.5 percent of Japanese families had acquired TVs or tuners to receive terrestrial digital broadcasting signals as of the end of September, up 8.8 points from March.

Nov 4, 2009 – Liberty Global (NASDAQ: LBTYA, LBTYB, LBTYK) has announced results for the quarter ended September 30, 2009. In the last twelve months, digital cable RGUs have grown by 42% or 1.9 million, to give a digital penetration of 45%.

J:COM adds 85k digital TV subscribers in 3Q09
Oct 28, 2009 – J:COM (JASDAQ: 4817) has announced results for the third quarter of fiscal year 2009. Year-on-year, the number of J:COM TV Digital subscribers rose by 495,900 (28%) to 2,263,500, accounting for 87% of all cable TV subscribers.

ULDAGE to package MPEG LA patents with ARIB 1-seg patent licence in Japan
